"Knocking on the door": Protecting gas safety
Carrying out gas security inspection at home is a powerful means to ensure the safety of gas use in households. Since the beginning of this year, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and other places have carried out "knocking on the door" to find out the possible safety hazards of gas facilities in residents’ homes in time, publicize the knowledge of safe gas use, minimize the risk of gas use and prevent it from "burning".
The rectification and publicity are closely combined.
Zhejiang Province gathers the strength of communities, property service enterprises, grid workers and residents to carry out "knocking on the door", actively popularizes basic knowledge such as gas laws and regulations, safe gas use and emergency treatment, and provides residents with various services such as consultation and publicity of safe gas use knowledge. Among them, the "Knocking on the Door" campaign in Shaoxing City organized gas enterprises to carry out home security inspection and distributed gas safety manuals and self-inspection forms for residents, which greatly reduced the difficulty for residents to replace "problem management", "problem stove" and "problem valve" and strengthened residents’ attention to hidden dangers; Quzhou City will combine household security inspection with publicity. Street joint communities, third-party service agencies and gas workers will publicize and educate residents about gas safety during household security inspection, and set up gas safety bulletin boards and exhibition boards to show the main points and precautions of gas use.
Jingjiang City Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau, Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province organized gas enterprises to carry out "knocking on the door" for full coverage of household security inspection, focusing on the gas use of long-term unmanned users, users with long-term hidden dangers who have not been rectified, users who have not purchased gas for a long time and use less gas, and users with low household security inspection rate. At the same time, special rectification will be carried out for the unqualified "stove pipe valve" and "pipe valve" two sets of low-income groups. In Anshan City, Liaoning Province, the gas household safety inspection operation is under way. The staff members knock on the door to inspect, and on the principle of "no access to the house, no hidden problems, no publicity and education, and no thorough rectification of hidden problems", the focus is on inspecting 123,000 vacant houses, 5,581 buildings in 403 old communities and 24,000 special group users, so as to achieve full coverage and no dead ends.
Bao ‘an District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, delivered gas safely to home through hands-on teaching. Hold gas publicity activities in the center of the community, so that residents can experience the whole process of gas security inspection, combine gas safety knowledge with daily life, and improve residents’ gas use skills and emergency handling skills. Among them, the "Science Park" exhibition area set up a real family kitchen scene, and the staff of the gas business enterprise explained the gas safety knowledge to the residents face to face, and taught the residents the key points of gas safety inspection by hand. Ms. Chen, a resident, said that the staff usually don’t know what to check at home. After getting started today, I found that the staff’s security work is very detailed and serious.
In addition, the exhibition area also allows residents to actively participate in gas knowledge quiz through blind boxes. "I know that bottled natural gas and pipeline natural gas can’t be mixed, but I really can’t answer why they can’t be mixed. This activity has taught me new knowledge points." Ms. Wang, who participated in the activity, said, "After learning professional knowledge on the spot, I also reported to the staff that my gas stove still uses rubber hoses. They registered on the spot and arranged for replacement at home, which solved my problem at home."
Install updated safety accessories
The Urban Management Committee of Haidian District, Beijing organized gas companies to carry out "knocking on the door" for gas safety, and installed safety accessories for 512,000 households, including gas self-closing valves and metal-clad hoses. After all the installation is completed, the safety index of gas equipment used in residents’ homes will be greatly improved, and the indoor intrinsic safety level will be improved. At the same time, in close cooperation with local streets, communities and property service enterprises, we will focus on conducting patrol inspections on users who do not meet with visits and "four types of users" (residential users, commercial users, industrial users and other users), focusing on checking whether stoves with flameout protection devices are used in residents’ homes, eliminating hidden dangers in time during the inspection, and going deep into the safe use norms of popular science gas to protect the safety of residents’ gas.
Shunyi District organized a "physical examination" of gas safety and the replacement of accessories in the "Knocking on the Door Action", and replaced the safety accessories such as gas self-closing valves and metal-coated hoses for residents free of charge. The new gas self-closing valve has the protection functions of over-pressure, under-pressure and over-current cut-off; Metal-coated hose has the characteristics of rat bite resistance, high strength and non-aging, which further improves the safety index of household gas.
"You see that the value on the instrument is 0, which proves that there is no air leakage problem." When entering the house for security check, the security inspector came to a resident’s kitchen and used a gas sniffer to detect air leakage. Mainly check whether the gas pipeline, gas equipment, gas facilities and ancillary facilities are corroded and damaged, and then use gas sniffer to detect gas leakage to ensure the safety of residents’ gas use. Ms. Zhao, a resident, said: "When security inspectors find potential safety hazards during the inspection, they will remind us in time and explain the gas knowledge to us, and our hearts will be more practical."
Pay attention to the needs of special groups
In some areas, special attention has been paid to the home gas safety of special groups such as elderly people living alone, and "knocking on the door" for gas safety of special groups has been actively carried out to bring convenience to their lives.
Yun ‘an District, Yunfu City, Guangdong Province, carried out the home safety investigation activities for the elderly, which are "keeping the safety bottom line in household gas investigation". The staff distributed gas safety publicity materials to the elderly to explain the safe use of gas facilities. In case of gas leakage, the valve should be closed at the first time to cut off the source of gas leakage and call for help outdoors. Focus on reminding the elderly that gas safety is no small matter, and remember the knowledge of gas safety.
"Hey, hey, when cooking at home, you must pay attention to check the ventilation …" ziliujing district, Zigong City, Sichuan Province organized a safety grid member to carry out the "knocking action" of safety publicity, popularized the safety knowledge of gas use to residents, reminded them to pay attention to indoor ventilation and prevent carbon monoxide poisoning, which not only enhanced the safety awareness of elderly people living alone, but also provided a solid guarantee for the happy life of residents. During the operation, the grid operator takes the principle of "seamless and full coverage" to ensure that every household can understand the importance of safe use of gas. At the same time, the District Fire Rescue Brigade also actively participated, with the theme of "three explanations and three demonstrations", and went deep into residents’ homes to provide fire safety services for residents and enhance their awareness of safe use of gas.
Install detectors, cut-off valves and receivers … In less than an hour, the gas alarm in an elderly person living alone was installed. In the process of "knocking on the door", Anjing Street in Pidu District, Chengdu installed gas alarm equipment for the elderly living alone, including detectors, receivers and cut-off valves. As long as gas leakage is detected, the alarm will sound immediately, and then the gas valve will be cut off to ensure the home safety of the elderly. In the home of resident Uncle Zhou, the staff carefully introduced: "Uncle Zhou, after installing the gas alarm equipment, if you encounter an emergency, it will call the police, and we will receive the information and come to dispose of it as soon as possible, so you can use the gas with confidence!"
The relevant person in charge said that through the "knocking on the door", not only the residents’ homes were knocked on, but also their hearts were knocked on. By eliminating gas hidden dangers in time and passing on gas knowledge, the safety defense line was gradually built in the hearts of residents.
